The following updates are corrections, additions and/or rule clarifications that pertain to the 2008 WISSOTA rule book. If you have further questions pertaining to these updates or any other rule, contact one of the following Tech Committee members:

WISSOTA & Sponsor Sticker/Patch Rules:

Drivers in all WISSOTA divisions are REQUIRED to display the WISSOTA decal and all sponsor decals provided by WISSOTA on their race cars. The mandatory decals to be displayed include (but are not necessarily limited to): WISSOTA, AMSOIL, Hoosier, Dart, Allstar, Sunoco or Turbo Blue, Pro Comp and Bassett.

The WISSOTA, AMSOIL and Hoosier decals MUST be placed on BOTH DOORS of each race car, in the first 10 inches of the body behind the front tires. Refer to the 2008 WISSOTA rule book, page 16, rule 3.2.2 and a downloadable diagram here for additional information. The sail panel area is an "overflow" area to be used if there is not enough room on the door for all required decals. Remember, the WISSOTA, AMSOIL and Hoosier decals must be placed on the doors as indicated; other decals can go underneath those on the door or, if necessary, on the sail panels in the overflow area.

Mandatory decals for each WISSOTA division are as follows:
Late Models: WISSOTA, AMSOIL, Hoosier, Dart, Allstar, Sunoco or Turbo Blue, Pro Comp, QA1
Modifieds: WISSOTA, AMSOIL, Hoosier, Dart, Allstar, Sunoco or Turbo Blue, Pro Comp, Bassett, QA1
Limited Late Models: WISSOTA, AMSOIL, Hoosier, Dart, Allstar, Sunoco or Turbo Blue, Pro Comp, QA1
Super Stocks: WISSOTA, AMSOIL, Hoosier, Dart, Allstar, Sunoco or Turbo Blue, Pro Comp, Bassett, QA1
Midwest Modifieds: WISSOTA, AMSOIL, Hoosier, Dart, Allstar, Sunoco or Turbo Blue, Pro Comp, Bassett, QA1
Street Stocks: WISSOTA, AMSOIL, Hoosier, Dart, Allstar, Sunoco or Turbo Blue, Pro Comp, Bassett, QA1

Sew-on patches (WISSOTA and sponsors) must also be displayed on drivers uniforms. The same downloadable page described above in the decal rule contains the guidelines for required patches for driver uniforms.

These rules will be enforced by tech officials after each race. If your tech official determines that you are not complying with these rules, the penalty will be loss of all earnings and points for that event.

General/Multi-Class Rules:
1. 3/22/08 In-car cameras, video cameras and/or recording devices are not allowed anywhere on any race car, in any class, other than in the cockpit above the interior deck tin.
2. 3/22/08 No softening or conditioning of tires is allowed in any class. Any tire can be confiscated by a WISSOTA or track tech official on any race night at any track to be evaluated and returned within a reasonable period of time. Fines and punishment for illegally softened or conditioned tires will include a minimum $1,000 fine and 12 month suspension.
3. 3/22/08 Only one battery is allowed per car. This is an existing rule that has not been changed but needs to be reiterated.
4. 3/22/08 Rear bumpers must make a complete loop back to the frame or be cut off within two inches of the frame rail, and they must be capped.

WISSOTA Late Model Rule Updates:
1. 4/11/08 No more than three spoiler supports are permitted. This has been and continues to be the spoiler rule in this division.
2. 4/23/08 All two-piece spoilers must be bolted together at any location between the side supports. Entire spoiler, whether one piece or two, must have same angle of deflection across the entire length of the spoiler. This updates rule letter I (Spoiler) number 3 on page 29 of the 2008 rule book. It does not alter rule letter I (Spoiler) number 2 on the same page which disallows adjustable sliding spoilers.
3. 4/29/08 Side window decals are allowed in sail panel area.

WISSOTA Modified Rule Updates:
1. 3/22/08 In the description of the Modified spec engine 0-362 c.i. rules, rule (7.C.4) should read as follows: Ford S.V.O. cast iron head, part no.'s M-6049-E351 and M-6049-N351. Intake port size 1.10 width, 2.03 height; exhaust port size 1.20 width, 1.33 height.
2. 3/22/08 The left rear tire is not required to be visible outside the body line/body panel as described in the diagram on page 34 of the rule book.
3. 4/11/08 One center spoiler support can be used, which allows a total of three supports including the two side supports. Center support can be no larger than side supports.

WISSOTA Limited Late Model Rule Updates:
1. 4/29/08 Side window decals are allowed in sail panel area.

WISSOTA Super Stock Rule Updates:
1. 3/22/08 Engine: Main cap girdle is not allowed.
2. 4/29/08 Side window decals are allowed in sail panel area.

WISSOTA Midwest Modified Rule Updates:
1. 3/22/08 The left rear tire is not required to be visible outside the body line/body panel as described in the 2008 rule book.
2. 3/22/08 Engine: Main cap girdle is not allowed.
3. 4/2/08 Cylinder Heads: The swirl port, head number 14102187 (1987-1991) is a legal cylinder head.

WISSOTA Street Stock Rule Updates:
1. 3/22/08 Engine: Main cap girdle is not allowed.

WISSOTA Mod Four Rule Updates:
1. 3/22/08 Engine: Main cap girdle is not allowed.
2. 4/29/08 Tires: Siping and grooving are allowed.
