Landmark agreement makes AMSOIL
title sponsor of WISSOTA Auto Racing
SUPERIOR, WI - AMSOIL, Inc., headquartered in Superior, WI, and the WISSOTA Promoters Association, Inc. have reached a landmark agreement and formed a marketing partnership which will make AMSOIL the title sponsor of all WISSOTA auto racing beginning in 2007. All sanctioned events at WISSOTA's more than 50 American and Canadian member tracks will now be a part of the newly named AMSOIL Dirt Track Series.
The WISSOTA AMSOIL Dirt Track Series will include competition among high powered, pulse-pounding race cars in a variety of divisions, including dirt track Street Stocks, Mod Fours, Midwest Modifieds, Super Stocks, Modifieds and Late Models.
"AMSOIL has long been associated with quality products and quality race teams," said Jeremy Meyer, AMSOIL Race Director. "We have a long history of working with drivers and WISSOTA and this new relationship helps solidify our status as the First in Synthetics. WISSOTA continues to work for the betterment of the sport, and AMSOIL is excited to be part of that commitment."
WISSOTA president Terry Voeltz echoed that sentiment from the racing organization's perspective. "Obviously, all of us at WISSOTA are very excited about this great opportunity. Obtaining a title sponsor for our organization is a fantastic way to begin the new year, and to do so with a prominent company such as AMSOIL makes it even better. A partnership between AMSOIL and WISSOTA is a natural fit for us both," he said. "After all, we share a common back yard and all of our customers are potential AMSOIL customers."
"AMSOIL has already proven itself as a good corporate citizen of WISSOTA auto racing and has sponsored some of our drivers and some of our member tracks, as well as one of the region's most popular WISSOTA Late Model series," Voeltz added.
AMSOIL, Inc., the worldwide leader in synthetic oil products, sees this as a fantastic opportunity to market its product line not only to the nearly 3,000 competitors who race at WISSOTA member tracks but even more importantly to the more than 1.5 million spectators who will attend exciting weekly racing and special events across the expansive WISSOTA auto racing region. In 2006, there were WISSOTA member tracks in seven states and two Canadian provinces, including Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Manitoba and Ontario.
"This agreement allows AMSOIL to reach die hard race fans and a dedicated base of drivers in a wide arrange of disciplines," said Meyer. "AMSOIL has had great success with the AMSOIL Late Model Series, which will be making a return to local tracks in 2007, and many past WISSOTA winners, including Darrell Nelson, Craig Thatcher and Pat Doar. AMSOIL will continue to bring the best products both on and off the track."
The AMSOIL story began in the mid 1960s, when Lt. Col. A.J. "Al" Amatuzio, a jet fighter squadron commander, was impressed by the superb performance of synthetic lubricants in jet engines (in fact, only synthetics stand up to the performance demands of jet engines) and began studying their possible automotive applications. In 1972, after an intense period of research and development, Al Amatuzio introduced the first synthetic motor oil in the world to exceed API automobile service requirements.
Since 1972, the company has seen rapid growth and constant change. One driving force behind the great success of AMSOIL is a commitment to quality and constant improvement. As the years passed, an increasingly broad range of automotive and industrial lubricants and filtration equipment was developed, and AMSOIL has continued to set new industry standards for motor oil performance, quality and consistency.
"From the corporate headquarters in Superior to all of the dealers around the upper midwest, AMSOIL's people recognize the benefit of its involvement in racing and see the many opportunities that exist to market its brand and products to consumers as well as the racers throughout WISSOTA country and beyond," explained Voeltz.
"The leaders of AMSOIL and WISSOTA have a great deal of respect for each other and we are very thankful to AMSOIL for having the belief and confidence in WISSOTA to become our organization's first ever title sponsor. It is only fitting to have our first title sponsor come right out of the region where our style of cooperative success was born some 25 years ago. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with AMSOIL," Voeltz said.
No one can match AMSOIL experience and technological know-how, and no other type of racing offers more excitement than WISSOTA dirt track racing. Accept no substitutes - AMSOIL is The First in Synthetics® and WISSOTA's AMSOIL Dirt Track Series is the first choice for racing fans from the shores of Lake Michigan and Lake Superior to the Rocky Mountains.
"This relationship is a win-win for both AMSOIL and the racers of WISSOTA," said Meyer. "Drivers and fans will now have a chance to use the best synthetic lubricants on the market. AMSOIL will benefit from the continued testing of our oils, lubes and greases in extreme conditions. Drivers will be able to use a product that will increase horsepower and save money on repairs and engine life."
Additional sponsor announcements will be made by WISSOTA in the coming weeks, leading up to the start of the most exciting racing season the region has ever experienced.
