Drivers invited and encouraged to become
members of WISSOTA drivers committee

COKATO, MN - Drivers who are interested in becoming members of the WISSOTA AMSOIL Dirt Track Series drivers committee for 2007 should contact Ryan Aho by phone or email immediately to volunteer for duty. Aho’s phone number is (218) 969-1380 and his email address is ryan@aho71a.com.

In 2006, Aho (Super Stock) and Jason Thoennes (Modified) were the organizers of the new committee system implemented to give drivers input into WISSOTA’s rules-making process. The two, along with John Kaanta (Late Model), Rich Pavlicek (Midwest Modified), John Kallas (Street Stock) and Matt Greseth (Mod Four) spent the 2006 season working with track-level driver reps to obtain items to go on the November WISSOTA annual meeting rules agenda. All six drivers participated at the 2006 annual meeting on behalf of their respective divisions as well, and many track promoters brought drivers with them to the 2006 annual meeting to take part in the rules discussion.

National driver committee representatives are responsible for working with track representatives from across the region to bring potential rule clarifications and changes to WISSOTA’s promoters for consideration at the organization’s annual meeting.

Track representatives are responsible for collecting input from drivers at their individual tracks and relaying that information to the national driver committee representatives.

Both national and track level committee members for 2007 are now being sought.

“I know most of the guys who were reps last year are probably willing to do it again if needed, but we want to be sure EVERY driver out there is given the chance to be a part of this. These rules are important to all drivers and getting involved in this committee is the best way to make sure drivers’ opinions are taken into consideration on all aspects of the rules,” said Aho recently.
