Participant insurance policy available to WISSOTA
racers and crew members for just $17.00 per year

DULUTH, MN (March 25) - For the first time in more than half a decade, racers and members of their teams will have access to insurance through the WISSOTA Promoters Association, Inc.

WISSOTA Board Member Gus Omundson recently announced that competitors in WISSOTA will now have access to insurance through Rand Sports & Entertainment Insurance of Ormond, FL.

Omundson said the policy, which is underwritten by MNCA, is available to drivers and crew members for $17 per year. It is a secondary policy that would pay over and above what an individual’s insurance would not cover.

“It’s like a catastrophic loss policy,” Omundson said. “It has a $10,000 deductible, which the track’s insurance should cover, and it works up to a cap of $50,000."

The insurance is not mandatory and there is no application process. Those interested in obtaining a policy should send a check made out to MCNA in the amount of $17.00 along with their name, address and phone number to: Gus Omundson, 2644 Morris Thomas Rd., Duluth, MN, 55811.
