Rain knocks out Tri Star series openers at
West Fargo & Huron; events pushed back one week
HURON, SD (June 2) - The opening event of the 2007 Tri Star Engine Supply Challenge Series for WISSOTA Late Models was cancelled at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Friday, June 1.
Twenty-four hours later, the second scheduled event of the '07 series also fell to bad weather at Huron, South Dakota's Dakota State Fair Speedway.
Plans were quickly set into motion to merely move back the two series events by a week, and they will now be held back to back seven days later than originally scheduled.
Red River Valley will host its $3,000 to win, $300 to star Tri Star Challenge Series event on Friday, June 8. All regular divisions will accompany the WISSOTA Late Models on the big half mile.
The series competitors will then move on to Huron, South Dakota's Dakota State Fair Speedway for the next event on Saturday, June 9. The $5,000 to win, $500 to start event at DSFS will be the richest along the Challenge Series trek in 2007. The DSFS event is sponsored by Jack Links Beef Jerky.
