WISSOTA and Allstar Performance reach agreements to make Allstar the "Official Performance Parts" brand

DASSEL. MN - Allstar Performance has become the “Official Performance Parts” brand of WISSOTA Auto Racing through an agreement reached between the manufacturer and sanctioning body last week.

“In just one year, we’ve established a very good relationship with the group at Allstar Performance,” noted WISSOTA marketing committee chairman Scott Hughes. “In 2007, we worked together on an initial program that brought additional cash into the WISSOTA point fund along with some tremendous Allstar product certificates that were given away at the national awards banquet.”

That program also helped establish Allstar as a featured brand name for racers to purchase at their favorite retailers in 2007.

“The new sponsorship program expands on our initial partnership and the investment Allstar makes in WISSOTA will be a great benefit to the drivers of our region,” Hughes stated. “For the next three years we will work closely together to increase sales of the Allstar brand at retailers across the WISSOTA region while at the same time rewarding the racers in all our divisions with cash and product distributed by Allstar Performance.”

Three members of the Allstar team, Curt Spalding, Geof Kiekenapp and John Berglund, displayed products at the 2007 WISSOTA Auto Racing Expo and were very happy with what they discovered.

“We do shows all around the country and you never know what you’re getting into. But you guys have a very good, hardcore group of racers. The racers, the promoters, everyone there was very courteous and the entire experience was very positive,” said Spalding. “And, as it turned out, several of our Allstar dealers were also there as exhibitors, so we were able to direct customers right to them at the show,” he added.

Spalding also said, “Our staff at Allstar are all racers, rodders, or high performance enthusiasts. When we see a need for a new product, we research and develop it. Other times, our customers and friends tell us what kind of tools and equipment they wish they had. We pride ourselves on listening to those people and coming up with products that make their shop work simpler, or their car faster, or their life easier.”

“Not every product we make is glamorous,” Spalding admitted. “But everything is useful and satisfies a very real need.”

The massive list of racers around the country that use and win with Allstar Performance products includes local WISSOTA guys like Jimmy Mars, Steve Arpin and A.J. Diemel, and other headliners like Scott Bloomquist, Earl Pearson, Jr., Shane Clanton, Chub Frank, Jimmy Owens, Steve Casebolt, Shannon Babb, Don O’Neal and many more.

The goal of Allstar’s partnership with WISSOTA is to help racers from the region become more aware of the huge variety of Allstar brand products available for their shops and cars, and to have them experience the quality of each AllStar component they purchase.

“When your racers start trying some of our parts,” said Berglund, “they’re going to start asking for the Allstar brand where they shop. Our parts are all high quality and reasonably priced - and the best thing is that Allstar parts are already available at a well established dealer network in the WISSOTA region.”

Spalding echoed Berglund’s sentiment and stressed that local race parts retailers are the backbone of our industry and are there to support the racers day in and day out. He said, “We are going to mail catalogs to WISSOTA’s racers and you’re going to see in our new, 100 plus page catalog the thousands of Allstar products available. We hope WISSOTA’s racers will evaluate our products and see what great value Allstar has to offer.”

Berglund explained why Allstar has chosen to partner with WISSOTA Auto Racing and support its competitors. “We try to link all of our track programs with quality groups, and with people we believe in. We watched what went on within WISSOTA for a number of years before we got involved in 2007, and what we saw up-close was even better than we had imagined,” he said.

“I had the opportunity to hit a handful of WISSOTA tracks last season and was impressed with the facilities, the quality of the racing and the fans.

Then, we went to the Expo and national awards banquet and were blown away by the enthusiasm of the WISSOTA racing community. We made it a priority to increase our presence in the WISSOTA region because you guys have a great thing going,” he concluded.
