PRESS RELEASE FROM WISSOTA January 16, 2008

Dart Machinery becomes title sponsor of the Challenge Series for WISSOTA Late Models in 2008

DASSEL, MN - WISSOTA Auto Racing and Dart Machinery recently reached an agreement that will make Dart the title sponsor of the WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series beginning in 2008. The new name of the Midwest’s premier WISSOTA Late Model traveling series - now heading into its 10th season - will be the Dart Challenge Series for WISSOTA Late Models.

In addition to this tremendous support for the WISSOTA Late Model division, Dart is also committed to the drivers in all of the other WISSOTA divisions as well, and has expanded its overall sponsorship program in 2008 to benefit all classes. All cars in all divisions will sport a Dart decal again in 2008 as part of the program.

“We want to support the drivers in all divisions,” explained Ted Keating of Dart. “The top division gets much of the notoriety, but at Dart we recognize that every competitor works hard to be successful, no matter which class they are in. Many of the drivers in the other divisions aspire to be Late Model racers, so this program feels like a very good fit for us.”

“Dart Machinery joined the growing line-up of WISSOTA sponsors in 2007,” said WISSOTA marketing committee chairman Scott Hughes. “Ted (Bud) Keating of Dart sought our organization out and, after hearing about the size, growth and goals of WISSOTA, decided they would like to both support our drivers and use the organization as a marketing tool. The people at Dart believe, just as the people guiding WISSOTA do, that rewarding the drivers in every way possible is a vital element to keeping our industry strong. They found our sponsorship programs very attractive because every one of them is also a racer reward program.

“This title sponsorship opportunity with the top division in WISSOTA gives Dart tremendous marketing value and name recognition, and it will certainly keep the Dart brand prominent in the minds of our racers,” Hughes noted.

Similar to WISSOTA, Dart Machinery began in 1981. Its humble beginnings were in the garage of drag racing enthusiast Richard Maskin in Oak Park, MI. He began with a desk, a telephone and a dream. Today, just more than 25 years later, Dart is recognized worldwide as a leader in engine component technology. Dart is also recognized as a very generous and prominent corporate citizen within the racing industry.

The WISSOTA Promoters Association is pleased to announce this agreement with Dart and this partnership will help to provide additional point fund money and product awards for the 2008 WISSOTA Challenge Series competitors.

Headquartered in Troy, MI, Dart Machinery produces a full line of superior engine blocks, cylinder heads, intake manifolds and accessories. Dart blocks, intakes and cylinder heads are legal for use in WISSOTA Late Model and Modified engine packages, and WISSOTA is also testing products from the company for potential application in other divisions. Information on all products available from Dart Machinery can be found at www.dartheads.com.

WISSOTA would also like to offer its gratitude to Tri Star Engine Supply and its owner, Dave Steine, for their support of the WISSOTA Challenge Series during the past several years.

“Tri Star is a great supporter of racing in our region and has been a strong supporter of WISSOTA and a number of its top competitors for years,” Hughes said. “We wish Dave and the Tri Star crew success in their endeavors and new marketing strategies.”

The excitement-filled Dart Challenge Series for WISSOTA Late Models is shaping up to be one of the best set of race dates in the history of the series. A few final scheduling details remain before the final series schedule will be released, but already it’s clear that several new venues will be mixed in with familiar stops for the drivers in 2008.

Craig and Callie Sullivan are the directors of the Dart Challenge Series again in 2008, and questions can be directed to them at the WISSOTA office. The phone number is (320) 275-9922.
