2008

Complete slate of Dart Challenge Series races announced for WISSOTA Late Models

DASSEL, MN - The 2008 schedule for the inaugural Dart Challenge Series for WISSOTA Late Models has been announced and includes 16 stops between the opener in June and the finale during Labor Day weekend.

The series, known for the past several years as the Tri Star Engine Supply WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series, is entering its 10th season of action at facilities all across WISSOTA country. That statement rings especially true in 2008 with two dates in the state of Montana - Thursday, July 17 at Electric City Speedway in Great Falls and Sunday, July 20 at BMP Speedway in Billings.

Superior (WI) Speedway returned to WISSOTA late last month after a two-year hiatus, and new promoter Arnie Ranta has since booked a Dart Challenge Series event for Friday, August 15. All told, the 16 stops on the tour will pay out a combined $43,000 in first-place money alone.

A potential 17th date at Redwood (MN) Speedway is currently being worked out between the promoters of the speedway and the county’s fair board.

The Dart Challenge Series will kick off the weekend of Friday and Saturday, June 6-7, with back-to-back $5,000-to-win shows at Red River Valley (ND) Speedway on Friday and Dakota State Fair (SD) Speedway on Saturday.

The final two stops will be Friday, August 29 at Rice Lake (WI) Speedway and Saturday, August 30 at Hibbing (MN) Raceway, where the overall champion will be crowned.

• Saturday, June 7, Dakota State Fair Speedway, Huron, SD, $5000 to win.

• Wednesday, July 2, Tri-Oval Speedway, Fountain City, WI, $2,000 to win.

• Saturday, July 5, Deer Creek Speedway, Spring Valley, MN, $3,000 to win.

• Sunday, July 6, Eagle Valley Speedway, Jim Falls, WI, $2,000 to win.

• Tuesday, July 8, Viking Speedway, Alexandria, MN, $2,000 to win.

• Wednesday, July 9, Madison Speedway, Madison, MN, $2,000 to win.

• Thursday, July 10, Casino Speedway, Watertown, SD, $2,000 to win.

• Thursday, July 17, Electric City Speedway, Great Falls, MT, $2,000 to win.

• Sunday, July 20, BMP Speedway, Billings, MT, $2,000 to win.

• Monday, August 11, Fiesta City Speedway, Montevideo, MN, $2,000 to win.
