| Kasson Speedway promoter brings Dodge County racing back into the WISSOTA community in 2008 DASSEL, MN - Kasson Speedway promoter Scott Mondus announced on Friday, February 22 that the dirt track racing facility he operates will apply to return to the WISSOTA banner in 2008. After a one year test run with another racing organization, the Dodge County fairgrounds facility plans to host weekly AMSOIL Dirt Track Series events as a member of the WISSOTA Promoters Association in 2008. "We're excited because we believe this decision will bring back a lot of the local drivers we missed last year and, just as importantly, the fans of those local drivers," said Mondus. The speedway's website included a driver survey the past several weeks, and the results of that survey weighed heavily in the sophomore promoter's decision to steer the track back into the WISSOTA racing community. Mondus noted, "During the last several weeks of our online survey, we've watched the opinions of our racers, and their allegiance to the WISSOTA brand is evident. We hope this decision and announcement indicates our desire to listen to our racers and work with them to improve this track." The Sunday night dirt track plans to host USRA Modifieds, WISSOTA Super Stocks, WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, WISSOTA Street Stocks and Pure Stocks on a weekly basis in 2008. The Pure Stock division will contain the traditional V-8 powered cars as well as specific front wheel driver six cylinder cars, according to Mondus. In addition, Kasson Speedway will have several USMTS Modified specials on it schedule, and Mondus is considering the addition of WISSOTA Late Models several nights during the '08 campaign. On top of all that excitement, Nascar racer Kenny Wallace will compete at the track on July 22 and there will be several "Eve Of Destruction" events during the upcoming summer. Novelty events such as that were very successful at the Rochester area track in 2007, Mondus reported. School bus racing and spectator drags will also spice up the schedule. The season will get underway at Kasson Speedway in early April. For further information on Kasson Speedway, you can contact Mondus by phone at (651) 226-3706 or by email at scott@kassonspeedway.com.
