Kopellah promoter announces decision to remain valued member of the WISSOTA association

ST. CROIX FALLS, WI - After an off season of uncertainty, on Monday, March 3, Kopellah Speedway announced its intention to continue its relationship with the WISSOTA Promoters Association. “We discussed this decision, literally, all winter long,” stated track owner Marguerite Lindblom, “and it was a painstaking process. Both organizations bring a lot to the table, making this a very difficult decision.” In the end, the difference proved to be the long term stability provided by the WISSOTA association.

The drivers, fans, and the speedway itself will carry on while continuing to enjoy the benefits that the WISSOTA AMSOIL Dirt Track Series offers. While sometimes referred to as “St. Croix's Secret”, the Centuria-St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin speed plant is no secret to WISSOTA's top drivers. Track announcer Terry Lehnertz noted that WISSOTA brings big names to the little quarter-mile bull ring. “Our 2007 Labor Day finale' is the perfect example of who WISSOTA helps bring in. In the Super Stock feature alone that night, we had WISSOTA's top three Super Stock pilots in Ryan Aho, Jeff Tardy and Dan Gullikson.”

Top drivers like Shane Sabraski, Dave Mass, Dan Wheeler, Cory Crapser and Shane Halopka will find the same WISSOTA welcome mat waiting for them when they return to compete in 2008. When the WISSOTA travelers join Kopellah's core talent of hot shoes like Jeff Heintz, Scott Splittstoesser, Kevin Adams, John Remington, Dave Siercks, Cory Davis, Jason VandeKamp, Kelley brothers Mike and Shawn, Jason Schill, Chanda Fjorden Nord, and the various Speed Shop North competitors, the dirt will be flying once again in hot side-by-side racing action.

In addition to continuing on with WISSOTA and AMSOIL, Pure Stocks will once again be on the weekly card in 2008, and the newly introduced Hornets are set to take to the track for their sophomore season.

The WISSOTA AMSOIL Dirt Track Series season opener will be in early April, and more details on the 2008 racing schedule will be available soon on the track's website: www.kopellahspeedway.net.
