WISSOTA Officials Want to Help You

In an effort to make your 2019 WISSOTA racing experience the best it can be. We are going to post some of the hot button ideas in the 2019 WISSOTA rule book. The 2019 rule book is posted on the web at www.wissota.org If you would like to receive a hard copy of the 2019 WISSOTA rule book, there is a box to check when you apply for your 2019 WISSOTA license.

Multi Class

  • Car number must be present on last pieces of exhaust.
  • Battery terminals must be covered with plastic or rubber.
  • No lights. LED lights or any illuminating devices allowed to be turned on under race car while racing.
  • No air bleeder valves allowed on any wheels.
  • Axles must be same O.D. side to side.
  • If your class has different engine options you must display engine option you are using along with car weight.
  • No concave body panels. That means no panels can break in toward the center of the car.
  • All classes must use Holley-style straight leg or down leg boosters.
  • No car covers allowed outside your pit area.
  • All classes 2" min. clearance around all wheels.

Late Model Class

  • Driver side intrusion plate mandatory. Minimum 1/8" thick. 16" high and 26" long. Must be made of magnetic steel. Must be welded bolted or clamped on.
  • The right side body line must be straight from front to rear with a one inch tolerance up and down left to right.
  • Rear of deck can be no higher then 39" when car is at static ride height with driver in seat. To be measure at center of deck side to side.
  • Hood can drop one inch with a one inch tolerance measured at back edge of the hood and in front of carburetor from left to right side of car. Fenders must taper from outer edge of fender to hood in strait line. Fender material must be flat with no bubble. Fender top must have 10" minimum width.
  • Roof rake. 1 1/2" from highest point of roof to front of roof when car is at ride height with driver in seat.
  • A maximum of one stone deflector is permitted on right side frame rail. The deflector may be made of steel, aluminum or heavy gauge wire. Can run from rear motor mount to in front of four bar brackets, not to cover brackets. Not to be above the top frame rail or below bottom frame rail.
  • CT525 sealed crate can have a maximum spoiler height of 8 1/2"

Modifieds

  • 5" maximum roof rake from highest point of roof to front of roof when car is at ride height with driver in seat.
  • Deck width must be same front to back. Maximum measurement is 66".
  • Maximum deck height 38" with driver in seat and car at ride height. Measured in center of deck side to side.
  • Maximum body width at bottom of panels near the ground is 78"
  • Springs must be same O.D. from top to bottom. Springs must be closed on both ends. Ends may be shaved closed on one end or both to create flat surface for mounting.
  • The max. amount of travel-limiting material on shock shaft is 1/2" This means anything above/below the shock shaft threaded end.
  • Main cage must be min. O.D. of 1.666" tubing and min. wall thickness of .095"
  • Wheel spacers/adapter can not exceed 1" total thickness.

Super Stocks

  • 1 1/2" max. roof rake from highest point of roof to front of roof when car is at ride height with driver in seat.
  • Main cage must be min. O.D. of 1.5" and min. wall thickness of .095"
  • Max. deck height of 37" with car at ride height with driver in seat measured in center of deck side to side.
  • Max deck width front to rear wheels 76". Must angle in from rear wheels to back of deck. Back of deck maximum width of 72".
  • Springs must be same O.D. top to bottom. Springs must be closed on both ends. Ends may be shaved closed on one end or both ends to create flat surface for mounting.
  • The max. amount of travel-limit material on shock shaft is 1/2". This means anything above/below the shock shaft threaded end.
  • Wheel spacers/adapter can not exceed 1" total thickness.

Midwest Modifieds

  • 5" max. roof rake from highest point of roof to front of roof when car is at ride height with driver in seat.
  • Main cage must be min. O.D. of 1.666" and min. wall thickness of .095"
  • Max. deck height of 38" with car at ride height with driver in seat measured in center of deck side to side.
  • Max. deck width front to back 66" max. width of car near ground 78".
  • Hood sides may not drop more than 4".
  • Springs must be same O.D. top to bottom. Springs must be closed on both ends. Ends may be shaved closed on one end or both ends to create flat surface for mounting.
  • The max. amount of travel-limit material on shock shaft is 1/2". This means anything above/below the shock shaft threaded end.
  • Wheel spacers/adapter can not exceed 1" total thickness.

Street Stocks

  • Main cage must be min. O.D. of 1.5" and min. wall thickness of .095"
  • Entire body including trunk and hood must be steel.
  • The max. amount of travel-limit material on shock shaft is 1/2". This means anything above/below the shock shaft threaded end.
  • Springs must be same O.D. top to bottom. Springs must be closed on both ends. Ends may be shaved closed on one end or both ends to create flat surface for mounting.
  • All cars must have a fuel cell nerf bar/bumper located a max. of 14" off the ground which protects rear of car frame rail to frame rail.
  • Street Stock concept engine. No tapered piston rings allowed.
  • Wheel spacers/adapters can not exceed 1" total thickness.

Mod-4

  • Main cage must be min. of 1.5" O.D. Wall thickness min. of 13 gauge round tubing.
  • Deck must be same width front to back. Max. deck height is 38" measured in center of deck side to side.
  • May use stock GM metric brake calipers on front end.
  • Min. scatter shield dimension is 3/16" thick by 4" wide and must be painted white.
  • Head may be angle-milled.

Pure Stocks.

  • Main cage must be min. of 1.5" mild steel O.D. with .095" wall thickness.
  • Safety vent bar is mandatory on all cars. It must run from top door bar to A pillar bar on left side of car.
  • Rear end gears must come stock for year and make of car being used. G-bodied cars 2.41, 2.56 or 2.73 gears.
  • Must use stock valve spring retainers. No vortec retainers.
  • Pinning of studs allowed or you may use screw-in studs. All studs must be stock O.D. No collared studs. Only work allowed on stud towers is drilling for pinning and cutting threads.
  • May use stock replacement type fuel pump. You can not alter frame for fuel pump.
  • Air flow carburetor hats are not allowed.
  • Lifter galley trays are not allowed.
  • All added weight must be added in the truck area and painted white. No other weight can be added in any other locations.

Hornets

  • Safety vent bar is mandatory on all cars. It must run from top door bar to A pillar bar on left side of car.
  • You must have a copy of the repair manual for year make and model of the vehicle you are racing at the race track. Cannot remove all Vehicle ID. [VIN] from car. One VIN must remain in stock location.
  • Rear side window enclosures are allowed.
  • 1987 to 1995 Dodge Caravan rear wheel hubs are allowed.
